The Life of Norka Luque |Education and Music

Norka Martinez Luque has always been passionate about music. Ms. Martinez was introduced to music a young age. According to her profile, her parents would let her sleep to the tunes of some of the greatest Latino musicians. By the time she enrolled in kindergarten, she was already studying piano, ballet, singing and flamenco.

This Latino songbird released her first complete music production when she was eight years old. The project featured the works of other artists including Luis Miguel and Shakira. Her parents always reminded her to put more efforts on her academic studies. They even sent her to France for further studies when she completed high school education.

In France, Ms. Martinez undertook different degrees including Business Administration, Culinary Arts, Fashion, and Marketing. In her bid to break the monotony of school, she performed in different French night clubs. She also joined a funk and rock band, Bad Moon Rising. This band enabled her to interact with the various figures in the French music industry.

Norka Luque became a household name in late 2008 when she met Emilio Estefan. Emilio Estefan changed her life forever. He took her under his wings and channeled her towards stardom. While under Emilio’s wings, she released her first single dubbed “As You Do.”

“As You Do” was written by the internationally known songwriter Archie Pena and produced by Emilio Estefan. This record got Ms. Martinez a nomination for the best female Latin artist in 2011. In 2012, her second record dubbed “Milagro” was released. This single debuted in three different stages; salsa, dance and urban remix version. All the versions became successful, with the urban remix version dominating the U.S billboards and charts.

“Milagro” cleverly infuses several genres including rock and roll, reggae, pop and some elements of Mediterranean beats. This song carries a message of hope that motivates and uplifts whoever listens to it. Her latest single is “Tomorrowland.” This song has made quite an impact in the Latino music community. It has taken Ms. Norka’s career on a new level. Since it was produced, it has dominated the music charts in Venezuela, Puerto Rico as well as the Miami region.
