Tetelestai. Or The Future of ChaotiMusic.com

Info,Tetelestai — drchaotica on March 18, 2010 at 9:56 pm

Tetelestai is an ancient greek word which according to the Gospel of John was the last thing that Jesus uttered before his death. It means “It is finished”.

It was also the basic meaning of the suite I’ve been writing over the past few months.

After 137 straight weeks of new songs, which have amassed almost 11000 total downloads I need to stop the constant punishing pace of creativity.

It has been great to have the deadline to force the creativity out of me, before this I had only written a small handful of songs, and now I have hundreds. It has also been great for me, both as a musician and as a person, my skills have grown and many of the darker elements of my soul have been able to be poured out through my music.

Since those two areas of growth were the reason I started this insanity in the first place, and with the time I spent on it needing to be reallocated to my studies, it is time to stop the weekly song schedule.

Not that ChaotiMusic.com is completely finished. I will return, but only when a song is ready.

So for now I must say τετελεσται.

ChaotiMusic 137 – Tetelestai VI – The Cloying Stench of False Freedom

“It is finished”

Lyrics:

Verse 1:
Breathe it in
As you step
From within
Pretend that it is fresh
In the air
You will let
The despair
Soak right into your flesh

Chorus:
The cloying stench of false freedom

Verse 2:
Round and round
You can’t stop
The unsound
Corruption of all you know
You’ve heard this
All before
You won’t miss
Once I finish the show

Bridge:
This bridge is written
To end this chapter
A purge of the darkness
That lived within
Not that its over
Or that I’m pure
But now I must say
It is finished
