Or maybe it is….
Lyrics:
Verse 1:
Circular logic
Spinning around through the
Moronic pawns to
Be pushed around by the
Corporate masters
Who tell us we must buy
Propaganda that
Spreads circular logic
Chorus:
This is not metal
This is not music
This is no message
This is not what it appears not to be
Verse 2:
Rebellious music
To fight against all the
Evil around us
That makes us conform to
Round holes made for us
Sold by the same people
Who provide to us
That rebellious music
Another song.
No words.
Whatever.
This is a song about mutant snakes.
Or not.
It is actually about the whole two party system (and also the left/right dichotomy) that dominates the politics of today’s world. I think my views on such things are clear from the song, and my blog and my comments around the internets.
I’d say enjoy, but the point of the song is really to get you thinking about politics, and the issues with our current systems…. and of course the fawning and worship of the “new guy” and his “change”.
Lyrics:
Verse 1:
See it slithering through the grass of the world
A snake with 2 heads with all the power to wield
Mouths overflowing with tasty lies to tell
Deceiving all of the people by their spell
Chorus:
You cut one off
The other takes over
Same as before (same as before)
You cut one off
The other takes over
Same as before (lie like a whore)
Verse 2:
Both heads say that the other one is all askew
The same body provides them with blood anew
We choose between the 2 snake heads by the vote
No matter what the evil snake chokes our throat
“Bridge”:
Crush their heads
Crush their heads
Crush their heads
Crush their heads!!!!
Chorus 2:
You cut both off
And we take over
Freedom for all (freedom for all)
You cut both off
And we take over
Freedom for all (heads on the floor)
This song is, a little different…. the lyrics are very stream of consciousness, the music is more moody and textured than my usual Metallica-rip-off-riffs. All of which is probably due to stuff that is going on in the global political and economic universe, as well as my own personal universe.
At the end of the day I still consider this to be metal, although it is more like Devin Townsend solo than Strapping Young Lad…. even if it does have a sitar….
Lyrics:
Verse 1:
Change is coming
Change is near
Just give a dollar
Coins for a dollar
Let it wash over
Let it surround you
Give up a dollar
Souled for a dollar
Chorus:
Lift your hands towards burning sun
Feel the temple melt around you
Taste the copper of your own blood
Peel the myths from cursed view
Verse 2:
Change is numbing
Change is fear
Just give a dollar
Lie for a dollar
Make you bend over
Make you unwound you
Give up a dollar
Die for a dollar
