ChaotiMusic 035 – Something Bluesy

Something bluesy….

I wrote and recorded this on Valentines Day. The short story behind it is that when my girl first said “I love you” ( on the sunday beforehand) I broke down and cried because I’d never thought I’d hear such a phrase.

But I did. Yay!

Lyrics:

Verse 1:
Pain flowing thru my veins again
Feelings that I can’t control
Composure slowly slips away again
Tears escaping in a flow
Like volcano erupting when
Long been a dormant hole
Pressure repressing and building then
Venting from my darkened soul

Chorus:
Something bluesy
Something bluesy
Something bluesy
This way comes

Verse 2:
So much pain and suffering
Built up over many years
Hoping this is the real thing
Cos that is how it appears
More than just a casual fling
Despite my paranoid fears
Someone to forever cling
And help me wipe away my tears

  1. I quite like the different guitar tones in this one, Dan.

And I really like the second verse.

The solo is pretty impressive and soulful, too.

The chorus might have been a little better with some different rhyming lines instead of the same line repeated. But that’s just my opinion.

Overall, a pretty sweet song. In both senses of the word.
