And now for something completely different…. a song about murder. This one may have been influenced by a certain gospel tract that was produced by my former employers. Completely unserious, but then the title is also a tongue in cheek reference to what happened the weekend before I wrote this.

Sure, I could of written a song about that…. and I did (three of them), but they went on a special album just for my girl.

It is said that us men only get into music for a small number of reasons…. money, pride, women. This is the song I wrote in the week before achieving my primary reason (that’d be number 3 in that little list).

Now this song was about me trying to work through all the nervousness that comes from meeting up with a girl for what could be considered my first ever date. This was made worse by the fact that this wasn’t some random girl, but someone who I’d been chatting to via the interwebitubes for weeks (and those chats were both long and deep)

This awesome girl had told me “you can’t get mopey on saturday” and that kinda led to this song…. and just for the record, that Saturday was awesome

Congregational worship…. that used to be a major part of my musical expression. This is just like that, expect that it is for Eris, Goddess of Discord. Well…. sort of.

It definitely has a similar lyrical style to those “jesus is my boyfriend” songs I used to play at church. The music of course is much more in line with my unusual brand of metal madness. There is even some theological (or maybe mathematical) depth to the lyrics.

This song is one of those where I took a crazy idea and ran with right past its logical conclusion into the depths of pure illogic. It is weird, it is strange, it is different…. just like me.

In fact I expect that if I ever need to present evidence to prove a verdict of “not guilty by reason of insanity” this will be one of the prime pieces of evidence.
